Press Room BiographyRandy George is one of a small handful of the world's finest theremin artists. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Randy holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of North Texas College of Music where he studied bassoon under Professor Kathleen Reynolds. As a bassoonist, Randy performed with several north Texas area symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles in a professional capacity from 1998 to 2002. In February 2006, after relocating to Los Angeles, California and a brief departure from performance to pursue creative work in the music industry, Randy found his true musical voice, the space controlled thereminvox. He has since dedicated himself to intensive study and development of theremin playing technique and preserving the instrument's classical heritage through performance. Randy devised a new theremin playing method that he continues to evolve, with aims at pushing the instrument's playing potential to unexplored depth. In the past two years, Randy has made significant contributions to the growing world-wide awareness of the theremin via music video productions on the web. Collectively, his theremin videos productions have been viewed over 11 million times.
